Meerut: An inspection at the district women’s hospital by a team of doctors led by Dr Meenu Sagar, consultant, National Health Mission, in Meerut on Wednesday exposed several infrastructural issues such as missing CCTV cameras, signboards and details of availability of medicines. The hospital was recently shifted to a new building and the inspection was carried out to find out the problems beings faced by the patients here.

Dr Manisha Verma, chief medical superintendent of the hospital, said, “We have just shifted to a new building and have been facing some infrastructure-related issues as a lot of equipment still hasn’t been brought here from the old building. This is why certain irregularities were found during the inspection.”

Meanwhile, the infrastructural problems in the new building were checked by PWD officials, who said that work to resolve these issues will be started from Thursday.

“Also, it was pointed out during the inspection that more chairs are required in the OPD waiting area. We haven’t also been able to display details about availability of medicines as we did in the old building. That too will be done soon,” said Dr Verma.

The inspecting team also stressed upon more curtains in wards for privacy of patients. No clinical problems, however, were found during the inspection.
