MEERUT: Vikas Pawar, a second-year student of MSc (chemistry) at IIT Delhi, was allegedly stabbed by two bikers on Monday. Pawar had deboarded a bus in Ganganagar in Meerut, where he lives, when he was attacked. He was rushed to a city hospital where he is currently stable, officials said.
The two assailants caught Pawar off-guard while he was walking towards his home. He later identified his attackers as acquaintances, who allegedly tried to kill him in an act of revenge.
Police said the crime was fallout of a family dispute and a case has been registered at Ganganagar police station.

Pawar’s family said they had lodged a case against the accused in the past after it was discovered that he used fake credentials to marry their daughter.
