Hosp fraudulently registers urologist under Ayushman

Meerut: A private hospital’s licence in UP’s Meerut was suspended on Friday for fraudulently registering a city-based senior urologist under the flagship Ayushman Bharat Yojana and conducting multiple operations without the doctor’s knowledge in his name. There could be more such cases, doctors said, as the case saw a probe being started by senior health officials.
The matter came to light when one of the patients had to be admitted to a multi-speciality hospital with post-operative complications and was sent for treatment to the same urologist whose name was used under the Ayushman scheme.
