UP government yet to deploy staff to run district women hospital computers

MEERUT: Almost a year after the district women

hospital

procured

computers

and set up a leased line for internet, the e-hospital plan for

Meerut district

women hospital has hit a road block. It was in April 2018, when all these facilities were put in place but staff to run them has still not been made available.

The project has not moved forward at all since April last year as the state government authorities have not been able to provide any employees for the e-hospital initiative to start. The process of making the hospital an e-hospital was expedited a month after PL Sharma District Hospital got the e-hospital tag last year.

Meerut district women hospital chief medical superintendent Dr Manisha Verma said, “Once the e-hospital becomes functional, the patients will start getting printed registration slips from the out-patient department (

OPD

). In the later phases, patients will also get online appointments and computerized fee receipts.”

The project was launched in early 2017, when the district women hospital was shortlisted for the e-hospital project and a budget too was released for infrastructural development.

However, in 2018, the project was stalled as the manpower for operating the scheme was not provided. A year later, the same problem continues.
