Meerut: Three persons, including a Delhi police inspector, sustained gunshot injuries during an alleged brawl over parking at a farmhouse in Baghpat's Baraut region during a BJP functionary's wedding, police said on Tuesday.
Baraut circle officer Vijay Chaudhary said, "The incident occurred around 8:30pm on Monday. An FIR against three men was lodged at Baraut police station following a victim's complaint. The bullets hit the ground first and then ricocheted, injuring the victims' legs. They were rushed to a medical facility and are in stable condition."
The altercation reportedly began over parking and involved guests Rajesh Chauhan, Akshay Chauhan (a student leader), and Shubham Sneh. Rajesh alleged that the accused began abusing them and brandished pistols when they protested. The confrontation escalated when the accused—Ankur Paldia, Abhishek Singh, and Shiva Kumar—opened fire.
The injured include Delhi police inspector Jitendra Panwar, along with Akshay and Shivam.
Chaudhary said, "The accused fled the scene after the incident. "Dedicated teams have been deployed to apprehend them, and an investigation is underway."
