Bijnor police offers reward of Rs 25k each on 6 suspects wanted in double murder
Bijnor: Police have annouced a reward of Rs 25,000 each on all six suspects in the double murder of primary school teacher Dheer Singh and his nephew, Ankur Singh, who were gunned down by assailants outside their village Dhaukalpur in Bijnor district on Sunday morning.
Dheer Singh (50) and his nephew, Ankur Singh (24) were heading home on a tractor when they were attacked. An old rivalry is surmised to be the reason for the murder. Over two years ago, the duo was released on bail in the murder of their rival, Aman Singh, from the same village. The duo’s father, Jagveer Singh alias Pappu, is still in jail.
Aman Singh was murdered on August 15, 2015 over what started as a case of molestation of a girl from Dheeraj Singh’s family allegedly by one of Aman’s sons, police said.
Giving details, Dharamveer Singh, Bijnor superintendent of police, said a case has been registered against six named and one unidentified person, “The six have been identified as Krishna, Anuj and Nitin from Dhaukalpur village, Devendra from Kambhaur village, and Lalit and Amit from Rawanpur village. The trio from Dhaukalpur village are sons of the slain Aman Singh. They all have been booked under IPC sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 302 (murder), 120b (whoever is a party to a criminal conspiracy to commit an offence punishable with death) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).”
Singh said, “We have formed four teams to apprehend the accused. They are still at large. We have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on each of them.”
