MEERUT: Gold medallist Annu Rani filed a complaint at Sardhana police after her brother, Jitendra Singh, and his friend Ankit Kumar were injured in a hit-and-run accident on their way to the market. The incident occurred near their native village, Bahadurpur, as they were preparing to welcome Annu.
Upendra Singh, Jitendra's oldest brother, told TOI, "Locals rushed both of them to a private medical facility. Jitendra sustained head injuries and both are in stable condition and are under observation."
Saradha SHO said, "An FIR under section 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 338 (Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC has been lodged. We've trying to trace the accused driver. Annu Rani urged police to take strict action against him.
