Shamli: As many as 200 children have not been attending the Government Primary School, Bhadi, in the Chausana area of Shamli due to foul smell emanating from a few carcasses dumped outside the school boundary wall around a week ago. On Thursday, only 20 students attended school but, most of them fell sick and vomited due to stink. Parents complained to the teachers and took their children home.
Villager Mohammad Zahid said that the animal carcasses have been dumped outside the school boundary and it has become difficult for the children to even sit on the school premises.
"The school has 200 children and six teachers. Everyone is facing problems due to the foul smell," school teacher Ram Niwas said. Village head Mohd Najakat said that he received complaints about a few carcasses lying in the vicinity of the school. These will be removed shortly so that children do not face problems.
