MEERUT: It's been eight days since a

retired IB official

has gone missing but police have failed to trace him. Family members of

missing Ajay Sharma

, 58, have on Tuesday met the senior superintendent of police (SSP) and sought his intervention to trace the missing man.

According to information from local IB office, Ajay Sharma, worked as a clerk in the intelligence agency, was under deep depression as his wife was suffering from cancer and had taken voluntary retirement in 2016.

According to Ajay Sharma's brother in-law

, “My brother in-law (Ajay sharma) is a diabetic. Recently, his wife was also diagnosed with cancer. Unable to cope with the pressure, he was in depression. On April 17, he went out of the house but did not return. We have filed a complaint at the Nauchandi police station but there is still no trace of him.”
