Bijnor: Three burglars, including a woman, robbed a house in Mandora village under the Heempur Deepa police station limits in Bijnor on Saturday, looting gold jewellery worth several lakh rupees on the pretext of begging, police said.The incident occurred when 30-year-old Shivani was alone at home, while her husband, Amit Kumar, had gone to Moradabad to help his sister appear for an examination. Shivani said the trio gained entry by pretending to beg and later threatened her by placing a knife on her neck. They then looted the gold jewellery and fled.Police said the woman was left traumatised by the incident. A police team reached the spot soon after and launched an investigation.Officials suspect the accused had conducted a recce of the village around ten days earlier, moving from house to house under the guise of begging to identify potential targets.SP Abhishek Jha said CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the accused. "Efforts to trace and arrest the criminals have been intensified, and they will be arrested soon," he said.A case has been registered against unidentified persons based on the victim's complaint.
