Bijnor: Three persons have been charged with illegal hunting and cruelty to a wild boar in Amroha, police said.
The case was registered at Nauganwa Sadat police station following a complaint by divisional forest officer
Rajeev Kumar.
The offence came to light after photos and videos posted on a social media account led forest officials to the accused. The footage allegedly shows a man riding a motorcycle, capturing a wild boar, transporting it, and subjecting it to cruelty. Two other unidentified persons are also seen.
A probe into the vehicle registration revealed that the motorcycle is registered in the name of Mahendra Singh, a resident of Banskhedi village in the Naugawan Sadat area.
Forest officials said the act violates multiple provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
"The accused are absconding, and efforts are on to arrest them," said SP Lakhan Singh Yadav.
