19yo woman stabbed to death by lover at home in Bijnor

Bijnor: A 19-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover at her residence in Kashiram Colony under Kotwali City police station in Bijnor on Tuesday evening. The accused allegedly attempted to kill himself with the same weapon and was found injured at the scene.

Police rushed to the spot following a distress call and found Kashish and Rahul, 25, critically injured. They were taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared Kashish dead, while Rahul is undergoing treatment.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Rahul, a resident of a nearby village, had been in a relationship with Kashish for the past four years and had been allegedly putting pressure on her for marriage despite already being married. Police said he left his wife a year ago. In 2024, a case under the Pocso Act had been registered against him on the basis of a complaint filed by Kashish’s mother, and he was out on bail.

Bijnor SP Abhishek Jha said Kashish was alone at home when the incident occurred. “Her family members had gone to Ambala to meet her sister. Taking advantage of the situation, Rahul entered the house before attacking her with a knife. An investigation is underway,” he said. Following the incident, heavy police force was deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
