MEERUT: State minister
Om Prakash Rajbhar
attacked the
BJP government in the state claiming that he is the only serving minister who is voicing criticism on erring bureaucrats in the state. “I have been complaining to the CM on how the bureaucrats are backstabbing the government. Don’t underestimate me, I am not one of those ministers who fear losing their portfolio,” Rajbhar said at a function in Meerut on Wednesday.
Rajbhar, minister for backward classes welfare, is president of the
Suheldeo Bharatiya Samaj Party
(SBSP), which, though has only four MLAs, enjoys considerable clout in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Rajbhar was attending a function in Dabka village under Kankerkhera police station where
Urvashi Chaudhary
, a local advocate and activist joined his party.
It has been a rough relationship ever since the two parties came together for the 2017 assembly elections. Rajbhar recently revolted and threatened to turn hostile ahead of the crucial
Rajya Sabha
elections following which BJP chief
Amit Shah intervened and met Rajbhar to settle differences. Rajbhar’s party even skipped the first anniversary celebrations of the Yogi government on March 19.
