SHAHJAHANPUR: At least 10 people sustained injuries after a bus crashed into a tractor-trolley in Uttar Pradesh amid heavy fog on Monday, according to police reports. The bus was traveling from Nepal to Chandigarh.
Three passengers, including a young child, have sustained severe injuries and are in critical condition.
According to superintendent of police (SP) Rajesh S, the incident occurred at Tikunia on Assam Road within the Khutar police station jurisdiction. The collision happened when the bus crashed into a tractor-trolley ahead due to poor visibility in foggy conditions. The accident left 10 people wounded.
Three people suffered serious injuries, the 44-year-old bus driver Vishal, a 28-year-old woman named Sita, and her three-year-old son Sushil. They are currently receiving treatment at the government medical college. The other injured passengers were treated with first-aid and subsequently released.
The authorities have impounded both the bus and the tractor-trolley, as confirmed by the SP.
