MANIPAL: A two-day workshop on latest techniques in jewellery manufacturing will be inaugurated by Manipal University pro-chancellor H S Ballal on May 15 at 10 am.
The workshop at the TMA Pai Planetarium building, being organized by the Manipal Institute of Jewellery Management, will provide jewellers and artisans an opportunity to update their skills with resource persons from Mumbai sharing their knowledge on the subject.

Experts in the field Rajan Mistry and Devesh Dawda will be the resource persons on both days. Manipal University registrar G K Prabhu will be the chief guest for the valedictory function.
The workshop will include the study of latest techniques in jewellery manufacturing like rubber mould making, vulcanizing and wax injection. The latest machines and tools used in the industry will be displayed. Casting of brass and copper alloys for making artificial jewellery will also be taught, said Col Madhava M Shanbhag, director of MIJM.
