MANGALORE: If everything goes as per plan, then the government Wenlock hospital in the city will soon be poor-friendly with more facilites.
Minister for health and family welfare UT Khader said that all vacancies in Government Wenlock Hospital will be filled and more facilities will be added to the centre soon. He said that the department will sanction more funds to develop various infrastructure for the hospital.

"There is a need for change in the system in which the hospital functions to make it people-friendly. The department will ensure that all facilities are made available at the hospital," he said.
Funds have been sanctioned to construct toilet complex for the hospital. Plans are on anvil to computerise the entire process and a state-of-the-art laboratory will be set up at the hospital soon. There is a proposal to construct an 'Arogya Bhavan' in Mangalore at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore to facilitate the administrative functioning of health department in one centre, Khader said.
He called upon doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital to behave politely with patients and their attendants. "Good behaviour of staff is essential for the hospital to get good recognition. There is a need for staff training on a regular basis in this regard," he added.
