MANGALORE: Bachelor of Visual Arts students of Mahalasa School of Art in Alakehere, have cornered laurels for themselves in Varnika 2009, a national-level drawing competition for students of arts school organized by Manav Sanket Academy, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. A press release from K Purushottam Naik, principal of the School here states Prashanth K secured the first place that consisted of a cash prize and a gold medal.
Rajesh D'Souza, Sharath K, Nithin K, Ahmad Miqdad bagged gold medals, Narayan A, Kishan Raj, Prasanna Acharya, Kiran Kumar S, and Shailesh Kotiyan, silver medals, and Naveen Kumar G, Jayalakshmi G, Shivanand D Naik, Arun Kumar N, and Vikram B Shetty, bronze medals respectively.

The students came up with their creative works of art entered in to this contest under the guidance of N S Pattar, faculty of the school.
