Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is planning to conduct ‘Tambula Prashne’ on May 25, to find a solution to the controversy that erupted after a temple-like structure was noticed during the renovation of a mosque in Malali near Ganjimutt on the city’s outskirts, last month.
Earlier, VHP had planned to conduct ‘Ashtamangala prashne.’ However, in a meeting held at Sri Ramanjaneya Bhajana Mandira on Sunday , Mangaluru City North MLA Dr Bharath Shetty and other Hindu leaders decided to go for ‘Tambula Prashne.’ The meeting also decided to chalk out plans for the future course of action on the same day.

On the sidelines of the meeting, VHP divisional secretary Sharan Pumpwell told TOI that astrologers from Kerala will arrive to conduct the ‘Tambula Prashne’ at the bhajan mandir.
“Tambula Prashne will help in establishing the divinity of the place, following which, the future course of action will be decided. If required, other rituals such as ‘Ashtamangala Prashne’, will be held,” he said.
It may be recalled that the Third additional civil judge and JMFC granted an ex-parte interim injunction restraining anyone from dismantling or damaging the structure like a temple till the next date of hearing, which is June 3.
Bharath Shetty, Mangaluru North MLA, tweeted: “We are asking to conduct survey at the disputed site in Malali area of our Mangaluru North Constituency.”
