Tulu Sahitya Academy awards announced
Mangaluru: The annual Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Award winners for the year 2021 have been announced. An honorary awards will be conferred upon Sanjeeva Bangera Talapady, folklore artist, Krishnappa Uppoor, director and producer and litterateur Ullas Krishna Pai Puttur, said Dayanand G Kattalsar, chairman of the academy.
Addressing reporters here on Thursday, Kattalsar said that three achievers in various fields have been selected for the honorary award. In addition to it, there will be awards for special child talent, youth achievers, media and organising awards. “We have considered achievers from the state, outside the state and NRIs, while selecting recipients for the awards,” said Kattalsar.
The awardees in the various categories are, Yogish Kanchan Baikampady, for his poem ‘Tanjina Bolli’; Akshataraj Perla for ‘Beli, Shapoda Kann’ in the drama category, and in the study category, Dr Ashok Alva Suratkal’s ‘Tulunadina Prani Janapada’ has been selected for the award. In the child talent award category, ‘Neeriksha Kotian Kodikere’, ‘Jeevika Shetty Mumbai’ and ‘Sanvi USA’ have been selected. In the young achiever category, Hariprasad Nandalike, Chinmayi Mohan Salian from Mumbai and Ramananda Shetty from Oman have been selected.
The media award has been conferred upon Rons Bantwal Mumbai and Shashi Bandimar. Jai Tulunadu, Tulukoota Foundation Nalasopara Mumbai, and Tulukoota Qatar will receive organisation awards. Each award carries a cash purse and a memento.
