The team of

Peppere Perere

is in a celebratory mood these days. Reason? Their experimental

song

with ‘meaningless’ lyrics has worked beyond their imagination – the song has turned viral. Written by comedian Umesh Mijar and sung by another comedian Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, the song, titled Athala Vithala Shoora, has become a hit among cinephiles.
“During my previous film, Yesa, I had asked Bhojaraj to sing a song for the film, and it was well received. So, when it was time to I direct Peppere, I once again asked Bhojaraj to sing a number for the film purely for sentimental reasons. It turned out that this song went several notches ahead in terms of popularity,” says director Shobaraj Pavoor.

Mijar says that the song was written with no particular lyrics in mind, and that it is simply a whole lot unintelligible words and places thrown in. “But our music director,

Guru Bayar

, has given it such a peppy feel that it has become the first

Tulu

song to get a combined view of over a million in just a few days of being released,” sums up Mijar.
