Joshi, who convicted Sandeep Soni on charges of killing Rohitash Kumar will decide on the quantum of punishment on Saturday. Sandeep was staying with Rohitash, Subash, Ashok, Ashish, and Kuldeep in a house at Sequeira Compound.

Sandeep worked with the victim Rohitash Kumar at Indo Arya Transport Company. According to the chargesheet filed by Barke police, Sandeep had a fight with Rohitash over the preparation of food in the house on October 6, 2010.

The two, along with other roommates, had dinner together. While Soni, Kumar and Subash slept in one room, the other three slept in the adjoining room, the chargesheet stated.

Sandeep Soni allegedly took a knife and stabbed Rohitash Kumar in the early hours of October 7. As Rohitash cried out in pain, Subash saw Soni flee the spot after dropping the knife on the floor. The accused also locked the room in which his three other roommates were sleeping, the chargesheet said, adding that Rohitash was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

While being taken to the hospital, Rohitash told his colleagues, Subash and three other roommates about the attack by Sandeep. Rohitash was later shifted from the private hospital to Government Wenlock Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries.
