MANGALURU: A college student in Kundapur was allegedly assaulted by an ABVP activist for answering a query of his collegemate on Monday .
Akif
, a third-year BCA student of
Bhandarkar
's College, was allegedly assaulted by Shashikanth Sheregar, 20, a student of the same college.
The incident occurred when Akif was coming out of class with his friend
Azaan
after an examination.
When a girl student asked Azaan about the exam, he remained quiet and Akif replied to her. Seeing this,
Shashi kanth and his friends approached Akif, checked his ID card and allegedly assaulted him. Kundapur police sub-inspector
Nasir Hussain said the incident has been noted as a non-cognizable case. The accused appeared to be drunk and was given a warning, he said.
