MANGALORE: Southern Railway has introduced special trains for Velankanni festival via Salem, Rasipuram, Namakkal and Karur from August 28.
The special trains will be run between Vasco-da-Gama and Velankanni on the eve of Velankanni festival. Train 07315 Vasco-da-Gama - Velankanni Special will leave Vasco-da-Gama at 2pm on August 28 and September 1 and arrive Velankanni at 7.15pm the next day.

Train 07316 Velankanni - Vasco-da-Gama Special will leave Velankanni at 11.45pm on August 29 and September 2 and arrive at Vasco-da-Gama at 5.30am the next day. The composition of the trains will be one AC 3-tier, six Sleeper Class, eight General Second Class and two second class coaches. The trains will stop at Madgaon, Sanvordern, Kulem, Castle Rock, Londa, Dharwad, Hubli, Haveri, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumkur, Yeshwantpur, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Salem, Rasipuram, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.
