Shree Guru Darshanam 2.0 perpetuates memory of GSB Seer

MANGALURU: The just concluded vrindavana prathishta and prathama punyathithi aradhana of Sri Sudhindra Thirtha swamiji, former spiritual leader of Gowd Saraswath Brahmin (GSB) community at Haridwar has brought forth yet another pictorial treasure trove for members of the community in the form of second edition of Shree Guru Darshanam.
The first edition was released in April 2015 to mark the navati celebration of Sri Sudhindra Thirtha.
While the first edition proved to be veritable treasure trove for GSB community, the second edition brought out four years later to mark ‘Amrita Mahotsava’ or 75th anniversary of Sri Sudhindra Thirtha Swamiji’s sanyasa deeksha celebration held at Haridwar on Wednesday took the legacy of this venerated seer further. This edition contains some rare and nostalgic pictures of Sri Sukrathindra Thirtha, guru of Sri Sudhindra Thirtha as well.
To commemorate the above important and auspicious occasion, the second edition of Shree Guru Darshanam Part 2 was published. This edition, besides the rare photographs also has some more photographs of Navati celebration held in April 2015. This edition also has pictures of Sri Sudhindra Thirtha’s maha samadhi and his final journey in January 2016, the vrindavana prathishta and prathama punyathithi aradhana held in January 2017.
With chartered accountant Jagannath Kamath taking the lead to bring out the second edition, every picture in the latest edition tells its own story. “These pictures recapture and bring alive the defining moments in Swamiji’s life journey,” noted K Manjunath Shenoy of Studio XL, who has captured these moments for posterity. In times to come, Guru Darshanam will serve as a memento and reminder of an era of abiding significance, he added.
Jagannath Kamath offered second edition of this pictorial of Sri Sudhindra Thirtha and his guru to his discipline and successor Sri Samyamindra Thirtha swami, current head of Sri Kashi Mutt Samsthan. Describing collective effort behind bringing the book as opportunity of his life to serve Kashi Mutt Samsthan, Kamath said it was due to blessings from Sri Samyamindra Thirtha, whose motivation and blessing saw this project through.
