Seminar on Indian women writers

The department of English, St Aloysius College will organize a national seminar on Indian Women Writers in English on Saturday. The seminar aims at exploring different aspects of modern day Indian women.

MANGALORE: The department of English, St Aloysius College will organize a national seminar on Indian Women Writers in English on Saturday. The seminar aims at exploring different aspects of modern day Indian women.
The resource persons for the seminar will be Giselle Mehta, Meena Kandasamy and Meena T Pillai. The seminar will be inaugurated by Mehta, who will also deliver the keynote address.

Mehta will talk on the topic 'Reversal of gender stereotypes in contemporary women's writing'. The lead paper will be presented by Pillai on 'Women and autobiographies'.
A discussion forum will be led by Kandasamy on 'Writing our body: Feminist Poetry in India'. As many as 40 research papers on the various aspects of Indian women writers in English will be presented at the seminar. For further information, dial: 9448744522.
