Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt at Sahyadri College on November 11
MANGALURU: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management will organize Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt (SSTH) at Sahyadri’s Adyar campus near here on November 11. The program is for PU and high school students covering more than 70 Colleges. The institutions with relatively moderate student strength will be clustered under single zone. The SSTH funds projects in order to encourage and motivate young minds, C K Manjunath, chief coordinator, SSTH said.

Around 1,200 students are expected to participate in the event. It involves project competition and still model competition quiz competition. The final prizes include cash award, trophies and certificates. The participants will have firsthand opportunity to interact with engineering students, faculty members and witness a host of engineering projects. The intent of SSTH is to provide a platform for exhibiting and sharing their ideas with their peers.
A panel discussion with experienced personnel from diverse fields of research, industry and education will share their perspective with the audience. The resource persons are S N Omkar, chief research scientist at department of aerospace engineering, IISc, Bengaluru, Vijay H Desai, senior professor, department of mechanical engineering, NITK, Surathkal and M V Subramanian, co-founder and managing director of Future Focus Infotech Pvt. Ltd.
This event is organized keeping the focus on improving innovative ideas of students and help them to further progress in same areas as professionals. All high school and PU college students of the region are welcome to visit SSTH 2017 project exhibition at Sahyadri campus from 10am to 1pm. Santosh S Lad, minister for information and infrastructure will be part of panel discussion with scientists and student interaction with panel of scientists from 2pm to 4pm.
