Road to emergency dept of hosp closed

, will be

closed

as

work

on the National Highway 169 is in progress. Vehicles including ambulances and private vehicles are being diverted and now have to take a circuitous route.

Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent said, “The management has cleared the alternative route. Vehicles from Udupi were asked to take a diversion at Syndicate Circle, to DC office road and take a turn near Upendra Pai Memorial Circle (Hotel Country Inn) to the new OPD block of Kasturba Hospital to the emergency department. Vehicles from Karkala, Shivamogga, Davanagere, Chikkamagaluru and Chitradurga district can take a turn near Hotel Valley View and reach the emergency department via the new OPD block of Kasturba Hospital.

Vehicles coming from Kundapura can continue to take Perampalli Road to Upendra Pai Memorial Circle (Hotel Country Inn) and reach the emergency department via New OPD block of Kasturba Hospital”.

Currently work is in progress from Manipal Tiger Circle to Vally View Junction. Though it’s the smallest stretch, it is one of the busiest. Manjunath Hegde, an NH engineer, said work was delayed as there were problems related to land acquisition and rain. “If work happens without any interruption and there is no rain, the work will finish in 15 days,” he added.
