Puthige seer to offer Suvarna Kavacha to Sarvajnapeeta

Udupi: The Paryaya Peetadheesha Puthige Sri Sugunendra Thirtha Swami, who is performing his historic fourth Udupi Sri Krishna Paryaya, will be offering ‘Suvarna Kavacha' (gold covering) to Moola Simhasana Sarvajnapeeta, Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt on the auspicious occasion of the completion of his 50th (Suvarna) Sanyasa Deeksha.Shri Madhwacharya Moola Simhasana Peeta is a seat of the respective Paryaya Peetadheesha during their turn of Udupi Sri Krishna Paryaya. At present, the seat is made of silver covering, which will be further covered by gold, said a mutt official. The seer will offer this Suvarna Kavacha to Simhasana Sarvajnapeeta after performing all the associated religious rituals on Apr 14 (Souramana Ugadi) at Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt, said a release from the mutt..The seer was ordained into Sanyasa Deeksha in 1974 by his guru Sri Sujnanendra Thirtha when he was 12 years old. In 1976, Shri Sugunendra Thirtha performed his first Paryaya and was seen as the youngest seer to perform the first Paryaya at the age of 14 in the 800-year history of Udupi Ashta Mutt.
