No Rahul roadshow, only campaign meet

Mangaluru: The proposed road show of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi scheduled to be held in Mangaluru on Thursday has been cancelled. Instead, Rahul will address party workers at a mass poll campaign meeting to be held at the Sahyadri Campus in Adyar, on the outskirts of the city, on the same day. Earlier, the Congress had announced that a road show of Rahul Gandhi will be held from Collector’s Gate to AB Shetty Circle, covering around 2km in the city, on Thursday. Prior to the Mangaluru programme, Rahul will take part in an interaction with fishermen at Kaup in Udupi district.
Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee president K Harish Kumar said that Rahul will be addressing party workers at the ground in the Sahyadri College campus at 3.30pm on Thursday. Meanwhile, BJP sources said that home minister Amit Shah is likely to hold a roadshow in the city on Thursday. However, the programme has not yet been confirmed, sources said. tnn
