New Captain for the KCCI trade body

MANGALORE: Mohammed Ameen has been unanimously elected president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 2012-13 at the 71st annual general meeting of KCCI here on Tuesday. Ameen (33) is the first person from the minority community to head this august trade body, just as his predecessor Latha R Kini was the first woman to be elevated to the post.
Nigam B Vasani is the new vice-president, M Ganesh Bhat, honorary treasurer, and Rammohan Pai Maroor and Jeevan Saldanha, honorary secretaries. The directors are B Chandrakanth Rao, M Aziz Ahmed, Vishwanath Kadri, Nitte Yathiraj Shetty, PB Abdul Hameed, Suneel Pai, K Ramachandra Bhat, Prashanth CG, C Vathika Kamath, Mahesh PAdav Shenoy, Madhavaraya M Pai and Jeevan Saldanha.
