, the four accused in a hunting case, to judicial custody till August 26. Kollur police arrested Raju and Santhosh on Sunday evening, while other two accused Nagaraj and Sundar surrendered before the police on Sunday morning. An investigating officer told TOI that the accused have been charged under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code, Section 25 of Arms Act, Section 33 (8) Karnataka Forest Act 1963 and Section 25 (5) Karnataka Forest Rules 1969.
Prabhakar Acharya, 28, was allegedly shot at accidentally and killed by his friends during a midnight hunting trip at Noojadi in Udupi district on Saturday night. A case of murder was registered at Kollur police station based on a complaint by Manjunath Acharya, brother of the deceased. There was no blood stains found on the dead body of Prabhakar Acharya and this led the police to suspect that the victim was murdered.
