MANGALURU: Aadhya A,5, has set a record for the most

hula hoop

spins recently.

She spun a hula hoop 4,000 times continuously in a kneeling position, and the total time taken by her to spin the hula hoop for so many rotations was around 34 minutes and 25 seconds.

Her record has been confirmed by the

India Star Book of Records

and

India Star World Records

in the first week of June.

Aadhya gave her record setting performance at Priyadarshini Montessori House of Children, Yeyyadi, on April 6. After monitoring her live performance, the panel of India Star Book of Records verified the complete video of her performance and declared her performances eligible for the world record. The procedure went on for two months and Aadhya received her record certificates on June 6 from the monitoring committee.

To receive cash award

Aadhya will also receive a cash award from the committee of India Star Book of Records. Aadhya is the daughter of Ashwin and Priyanka from Matthadakani.

Priyanka said, “Aadhya would have definitely performed better. On the day of her performance, she was down with fever, and was not able to have breakfast too. Now she can spin the hula hoop more than 5,000 times continuously.”

A keen dancer

From the time she learnt to walk, she always wanted to listen to music on television and dance. Aadhya was admitted to Ocean Kids dance school when she was two-and-a-half-years-old. Recently, she has begun training in skating and singing.

Her dance coach is Chandrashekar, who is popularly called Chandu.

For the past two years, she has been participating in Krishna Vesha competition and has been winning the first prize.

Priyanka said that they took Aadhya to at least 14 places where such competitions were held.

She has also started acting in Tulu dramas and will be seen in Tulu movie ‘Jabardast Shankara’ directed by Devadas Kapikad.

She has won several prizes, and the Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike conferred upon her the ‘Taulava Kumari’ award at a programme held in the city recently.
