Mangalore Cine Habba to regale cine lovers from August 6
MANGALURU: Samanvaya Manujamatha WhatsApp group in association with Sahamatha Film Society, Mangaluru is organising a two-day residential film festival ‘Mangalore Cine Habba’ at the Canara Organisation for Development and Peace (CODP) Hall, Paduva Nanthoor here from August 6. Veteran film maker and theater activist Sadananda Suvarna will inaugurating the festival, Ivan D'Silva, convener of the Cine Habba stated.
A fee of Rs 850 will be charged per participant for boarding and lodging for two-days.

For locals, the fee if Rs 500 as food expenses. Noting that there are limited seats, Ivan urged people to register their names in advance and confirm their participation. The films that will be screened are Chomana Dudi (1975) Kannada, directed by B V Karanth; Fandry (2013) Marathi, directed by Nagaraj Manjule; Papillio Budha (2013) English directed by Jayan K Cherian.
The other films are Schwarzfahrer (1993) German directed by Pepe Danquart; That day before everyday (2013) directed by Anurag Kashyap; Don’t Judge People on their appearance by Ivan D’Silva, Tulunada Siri (1971) Tulu directed by K N Tailor; Tamas, first episode, 2013, Hindi by Govind Nihalani; Gurmit Singh ki Vasiyath in Hindi by Nada Maninalkur and To kill a Mocking Bird (1962 English) directed by Robert Mulligan.
