Man loses bag with dead wife's jewellery on Mumbai-Mulki train

Mangaluru: A man has filed a complaint regarding the theft of gold ornaments during his recent train journey from Mumbai to Mulki. According to his complaint, the incident took place on Feb 19, while he was travelling from Mumbai to Moodbidri, with the gold ornaments of his deceased wife, which was placed inside a bag along with his clothes.
He boarded the Matsyagandha Express (Train No. 12619) from Thane at 3.40pm, occupying seat No. 48 in S7 coach. At around 10pm he went to sleep, and woke up twice in the night to use the washroom, leaving the bag unattended.
He deboarded the train upon reaching Mulki at 8am. When he checked his bag, he realised that the gold ornaments were missing. He then proceeded to his home in Niddodi, Moodbidri, and informed his daughter in Mumbai of the robbery. His daughter emailed the Karwar and Madgaon railway police, but received no response. Eventually, after returning home, he visited the Mulki police station with his daughter to formally lodge a complaint.
