Man held for wife's mother

A case has been registered in Mangalore rural police station against Shivappa of Pumpwell for allegedly murdering his wife Chandramma, five years ago.
The case was registered after three of his children, who were found by Child Welfare Committee (CWC) at Jyothi Circle here, alleged that their father had murdered their mother by assaulting her with vessels.Shivappa buried the dead body at a cremation ground of Nandigudde.
Of the three, the eldest Shaila (10), alleged that Shivappa had killed her mother, based on which the case has been registered. But two of Shivappa's sons, who are in prison for burglary, claim that mother died to alcoholism.
