Mangaluru: Man held for trying to burgle basadi

MANGALURU: The Mangaluru city police, on Wednesday, arrested a man in connection with the attempt to burgle the Thribhuvana Thilaka Choodamani Basadi, which is popularly known as Savira Kambada Basadi, in Moodbidri.
Accused hails from Moodbidri
Police said that the accused is Punith Shetty, who is from Moodbidri. The burglary attempt was reported on July 1.
After the incident, Mangaluru city police beefed up security, and put up a special beat for the basadi.
The accused was produced before court, and remanded in judicial custody, said sources.
