Mangaluru: Man held for trying to burgle basadi

MANGALURU: The

Mangaluru city police

, on Wednesday,

arrested

a

man

in connection with the attempt to burgle the

Thribhuvana Thilaka Choodamani Basadi

, which is popularly known as Savira Kambada Basadi, in

Moodbidri

.

Accused hails from Moodbidri

Police said that the accused is

Punith Shetty

, who is from Moodbidri. The burglary attempt was reported on July 1.

After the incident, Mangaluru city police beefed up security, and put up a special beat for the basadi.

The accused was produced before court, and remanded in judicial custody, said sources.
