MAHE faculty on Antarctica expedition

MANGALURU: Dr Anish Kumar Warrier, associate professor of geology, department of civil engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology and coordinator, Centre for Climate Studies (MAHE) along with Dr Mahesh Badanal, National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR, Goa), ministry of earth sciences will participate in the 39th Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica.

The three month expedition will be held from November to January for a field campaign to obtain the mud samples from lakes of Schirmacher Oasis, East Antarctica.
A three-year research project worth Rs 21.24 lakh was sanctioned to Dr Anish Kumar Warrier and Dr K Balakrishna (co-principal investigator) of MAHE.
