Lockdown forces teen to bring friend to his apartment in a suitcase

: The strict

lockdown

and no-entry of outsiders in many apartments, forced a teenager to bring his friend into his flat cramped in a suitcase.

told TOI that the incident was reported between 2-3am on Sunday. The boy, aged about 17 years, stepped out of the building in a scooter, with a huge suitcase, picked up his friend allegedly from his home and returned. Before getting back into the building, he parked his two wheeler outside the apartment, stuffed his friend inside the suitcase and dragged it inside the building. The security, who noticed something unusual, decided to alert the building association after sun rise. When the boy and his male friend stepped out at around 8.30am, the building security alerted the building association, who rushed to take stock of the situation. Panic spread among residents and they decided to resolve the issue in the police station.

The boy’s family lives in two apartments and his grandparents said that the boy stayed alone in one of the apartments on Saturday, a resident said.

said since the building has banned visitors' entry in the wake of lockdown, the boy decided to bring his lanky friend by putting him inside a suitcase.

He reportedly told the police that on several occasions he tried to convince the building association to allow his friend into the building. However, representatives from the building said a request was never made. The parents of both the boys were called to the police station.
