Thimmappa told reporters on Thursday there are many young leaders in Congress and asserted the exit of Kumar Bangarappa is not an issue. The veteran Congress leader also ruled out possibilities of damage to the party through the exit of former chief minister S M Krishna.

“One joins a political party based on its functioning and ideologies. Do they feel the party (Congress) is rotten now after enjoying everything. Hence, they should not have taken such a decision. In a democratic set up, a political party has its own ideologies. Those who join a party should continue to be loyal to it throughout their life when the party is in power or even when the party loses election. They are not supposed to engage in trading (politics),” Thimmappa said.
