K’taka man dies after falling while spraying pesticides in arecanut plantation
Puttur: A man lost his life following an accidental fall while spraying pesticides at an arecanut plantation on Thursday. The deceased is Shashikanth, a resident of Olmogaru village. In her complaint, Shashikanth's wife, Sheelavati, stated that her husband worked in spraying pesticide and arecanut harvesting. On the day of the incident, Shashikanth, along with Sundar, went to spray pesticides at the arecanut plantation owned by Deviprasad in Irde Beedu, Irde village.
Around 4.45pm, while Shashikanth was spraying pesticides on a tree, he lost his grip and balance, falling from a significant height. Jayant, another worker present below the tree, attempted to catch him, but Shashikanth slipped from his grasp and hit the ground.
Jayant immediately informed Deviprasad, who rushed Shashikanth to Puttur Govt Hospital for treatment. He was declared dead upon arrival. A case was registered at Puttur Rural police station.
