president, said Leslie Fernandes, former chairman of Dockendale Shipping. Co, will be the chief guest and Ronald Colaco, catholic social worker, will be the guest of honour.

For the past 67 years, the KCA has been organising programmes for the community members, said Errol Fernandes.

Marjorie Texeira, vice president of KCA, has organised cultural programmes.

“Mood Mangalorean is an event that showcases cultural heritage and history of the Kanara Catholic Community,” Dr Joseph Rasquinha, managing committee member.

Ferns Estates and Developers are sponsoring the event while Austin and Hilma Roach are sponsoring the event.

The KCA, is a venerable organisation for the Mangalorean Catholic Community. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in September 2004 and Archbishop Emeritus of Bangalore, the Rt Rev Ivan Pinto was the chief guest. The celebrations concluded on September 11 in 2005 with Rt Rev Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore gracing the occasion.
