Udupi: Malpe police arrested five men and seized valuables worth Rs 38.9 lakh in a raid against gambling near a resort in Kadekar village, Udupi taluk, Friday.
The team recovered playing cards, Rs 4.9 lakh in cash, four mobile phones, a power bank and two vehicles worth Rs 34 lakh.

PSI Eeranna Shiragumpi raided the location near Padukere stream estuary around 10.50pm and found six persons gambling at an old shelter in a public place.
Police arrested five, while one fled. The arrested are: Nithin Raj, 35, Ambalamogaru; Sachin R Shetty, 35, Palimaru; Sathish alias Kishore, 38, Kuthkorigudde, Mangaluru; Ranjith K Ameen, 39, Surathkal, Mangaluru; and Ravi, 36, Sadashiva Nagar, Surathkal.
A case has been registered under Section 112 of the BNS and Section 87 of the Karnataka Police Act.
