Addressing a press conference, DCC president and MLC K Harish Kumar said the BJP should immediately

expel

Hegde from the party.

“Let the BJP expel Anantkumar Hegde from the party and remove him from his office as MP. This is not the first time that Hegde has made derogatory statements and is showing arrogant behaviour. In the previous instances, Hegde has assaulted a doctor, stoked a controversy by making statements of changing the Constitution and called rationalists dogs. He also made a provocative statement to, “Cut the hands of those who touch Hindu women”. It is a tragedy that such a person has been given entry into the Parliament as an MP,” Kumar lamented.

There are hundreds of historical monuments and statues of Mahatma Gandhi across the nation. Further, we can see roads in the name of Gandhi all over India, Kumar said, and dared the BJP to condemn Gandhi openly by removing all his memorials, if the party does not want to take action against Anant Kumar Hegde. “All people together should boycott Hegde, who made derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi,” Kumar said.

He also urged the police to book a suo motu case against Hegde. “Criticising a government in a democracy is a right of every citizen, but the BJP considers it an anti-national act. If so, isn’t this, Hegde’s statements against Mahatma Gandhi, anti-national?” he questioned.

BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was in the forefront fighting against the Yettinahole project. At present, he is the state president of BJP, which is in power at the Centre and state. Hence, let Kateel explain his stand on Yettinahole project now. Since Kateel is president of the ruling party, he has the power to give directions to chief minister B S Yediyurappa. Let him direct the CM to stop the project now, Kumar said.
