Engineers Day celebrated

MANIPAL: Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal and the Mangalore chapter of Institute of Engineers celebrated Engineers Day at the MIT Library auditorium here on Saturday.
Director MIT, Dr Kumkum Garg inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, she said, "The future engineers have a great challenge in finding amicable solutions to natural and man made disaster. We are still lacking in technology so this is a big challenge for future engineers."
K Balakrishna, chairman, IE (I), MLC in his presidential address spoke on the achievements of Sir M
Visweswaraiah and the issues related to disaster and its management and mitigation.
