DK achieves A grade, 17 score full marks

In DK, while two of the candidates were from government schools, the rest were from aided and unaided schools. Five students from Alva’s Kannada School scored full marks. Meanwhile, the district also improved its performance, by achieving an A grade. Last year, it had achieved a B grade, with candidates from here securing 12
Indira Arun Nyamagoudar, a resident of Bagalkot district, who got a perfect score, said that she prepared well for the exam, but was not sure of scoring 625 out of 625. She added that the school environment provided her a positive platform to study well. Her father Arun Ramappa Nyamagoudar, a farmer, added that his daughter is a part of the adoption scheme of the school, and started to study at Alva’s from class VI. “She has not yet made any plans for further studies,” he added.
Ganesh Naik, principal of Morarji Desai Residential School in Belthangady, said that their student Roshan, a resident of Machina, was able to achieve success due to efforts of staff, with six hours of additional classes to make up for lost classes due to Covid-19. Roshan hails from a poor family, and his father runs a petty shop. “All the 50 students have scored first class marks,” he said.
Sudhakar K, DDPI, Dakshina Kannada, said that the district’s pass percentage is 78.2. A total 28,638 candidates appeared for the SSLC exam, and 25,052 candidates have passed. Around 75 schools have received cent per cent results.
In Udupi, five students bagged full marks. Except for one of them, the rest of the five were students of Government PU colleges. Students who bagged 100% marks are Gayathri (Government Junior College for Girls, Udupi), Nisha (Government High School, Kalavara, Kundapur), Pueeth Naik and Vaishnavi Shetty (Government High School, Siddapura, Kundapur) and Akshatha (Sandeepana English Medium High School, Kirimanjeshwara, Byndoor).
