District Crime Intelligence Bureau sleuths nab vehicle thieves

MANGALORE: Sleuths of District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) on Wednesday nabbed four inter-state gang of vehicle/LPG thieves and recovered stolen property, including motorcycles, LPG cylinders, worth Rs 4.50-lakh from their possession. The accused, nabbed at Mani in Bantwal taluk, were wanted in cases registered in Puttur, Sullia, Uppinangady, Kadaba, Ullal police stations in DK district and Majeshwar PS limits in neighbouring Kerala state.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Goyal named the accused as Abdul Basheer, 21, of Vittla Padnur in Bantwal, Muhammad Haris, 19, of Maadnur village in Puttur, Kamalaksha, 29, Kodavapadavu, Veerakamba in Bantwal, and Muhammad Faizal, 21, Savanoor, in Puttur. Police recovered seven Pulsar motorcycles, two Honda Activas, one Yamaha and seven LPG cylinders stolen from four places, detecting 15 cases registered in this connection.
