as well as some others, of coming to the courtyard of his house and abusing him, and demanding he withdraw a complaint that he had filed with the local administration. In a complaint filed with the Kadaba police on Friday, Shobharaj accused them of threatening him and his family members, attempting to assault him, and destroying cashew crops worth Rs 4,000.
He told the police that people from a different religion had illegally entered a dilapidated building, and were preparing to perform religious rituals there. A complaint in this regard has already been submitted to the tahsildar, panchayat development officer and gram panchayat, Shobharaj stated in his complaint.
Dakshina Kannada SP Rishikesh Sonawane said that prima facie it looks like a civil dispute between parties, and the police will get to the depth of it. A case has been registered under various IPC sections.
On Thursday, Fr Jose Varghese of Emmanuel Assembly Of God, filed a complaint at the Kadaba police station, accusing miscreants of illegally entering a prayer hall, by breaking open the door between 10 pm to 12 am on May 1, and destroying the holy cross.
