Burglars target wine shop
MANGALORE: A bar and restaurant and a wine shop were targeted in Ullal police station limits on Wednesday by burglars who made away with cash amounting to Rs 900 and four bottles of beer.
In the first incident, theft was committed at Varun Bar and Restaurant at Thokkottu, which amounted to Rs 500 in cash and two beer bottles. In the second incident, Prashanth Wine Shop at Thokkottu was targeted and thieves made away with Rs 400 in cash and two bottles of beer.
The Coastal Security police arrested two persons for possessing three kilograms of narcotic substance at Bunder on Wednesday.
The arrested are: M Hussain alias Unji (54) from Katipalla and Sadiq alias Shaji (35) from Ansari Cross Road, Bunder. The duo were trying to sell ganja at Bunder when they were apprehended by the police. The two-wheeler which was with them was also seized. The total value of the seized goods is worth Rs 90,000.
