Burglars strike at locked Bantwal home, flee with gold and cash
Mangaluru: Thieves broke into a house in Balthila village, Bantwal taluk, while the family was away at a temple fair.The burglary occurred at the house of Sathish Shenoy on Feb 4, when the family had locked the house and gone to Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Temple festival at Kashekodi.

When they returned, they found the door open. It had been forcibly broken using tools, and the cupboard inside the room was open. Clothes and other items were scattered.Thieves, unidentified, are suspected to have opened the steel boxes in the cupboard.
